Comet 4th May: In bowls, following a successful open day in which eight new members were recruited St Ippolyts began the season with a 54-46 win over Hitchin Town.

A visit to Welwyn GC at the weekend resulted in a 96-72 win for the club.

Comet 11th May : A good week for St Ippolyts Bowls Club began with a win for the ladies in the North Herts Triples League beating Riverain 34-32.

In the County Top Ten the men beat Bushy while in the SM League opener they won 92-55 against Holwell.

Comet 25 May: A good week for St Ippolyts Bowls Club started with a 54-22 win over Three Horse Shoes in the County League played throughout in heavy rain.
On Thursday the mid week triples team defeated Baldock 55-53.

On Saturday they visited Harperbury in the National Double Rink competition and in a very close game, that wasn't settled until the very last wood, they won 43-41.

To complete a great week for the club, two wins in the SM League, 86-35 over Willian and 83-58 over Riverain, saw them maintain their position as league leaders.

Comet 8 June: St Ippolyts Bowls Club pair Muriel Saunders and Matt Hayzelden are through to the third round of the National Mixed Pairs.

The achievement came after a win over Steve Budge and Wendy Goodyear 21-15

Richard Knight reached the quarter finals of the unbadged singles with a 21-14 win at Royston while Terry Saunders reached the officers' singles with a 21-15 win over Andy Hill of Hitchin.

The club's defence of the SML Knockout Cup began with a 79-56 win over Aston.

In the SM League they suffered their first defeat of the season at Stevenage losing by three shots.

On Sunday a visit to Datchworth in the National Double Rink resulted in another narrow defeat.

Comet 9 August A youngster from St Ippolyts Bowls Club has been crowned a county champion- and will now pit his skill on the national stage.

Danny Knight was joined by Baldock's Max Mackinnon and the pair walked off with the County Junior Pairs title.

They will now head to the national finals at Royal Leamington Spa later this month.

Knight is the first player from St Ippolyts to reach that stage.

Richard Knight won the County Unbadged Singles beating C.Coles 21-15 in the final.

In the County League St Ippolyts hosted Aston and ran out 44-29 winners.

Aston were again the visitors in the Stevenage Mixed League  but there was to be no revenge as St Ippolyts picked up another win, being successful on all four rinks.

To complete a great week for the club a visit to Knebworth resulted in another SML win, with a score of 82-65

Comet 24 August: St Ippolyts Bowls Club had two narrow wins in the county league during a busy week of action on the local greens.

Howard Gardens were edged out 35-34 in the first of those slender successes, after a dramatic fightback.

The visitors held the lead until the final end, when St Ippolyts picked up three shots to turn the match on its head.

And a visit to Norton the next day resulted in a 39-38 victory, before St Ippolyts maintained their challenge for the Stevenage Mixed League championship on Sunday with a far more convincing triumph 107-57 over Willian.

Comet 21 September: St Ippolyts Bowls Club finished their league programme in great style winning the league for the first time, finishing six points clear of their rivals.

In the club finals weekend Muriel Saunders won the ladies singles title whilst Matt Hayzelden triumphed in the men's singles.

Richard Knight picked up the the open singles and the graded triples with Trevor Upchurch and Terry Saunders.

The club finished the week with two friendly games.

They beat Whitethorn by  three shots and a visit to Langford saw them come away with a convincing 101 to  71 shot win.
