THE RON THOMPSON TROPHY (YARDSTICK)

Singles competition open to all members:-

The match will be played with fixed Jack positions marked by golf tees. These will be set at full length and minimum length in opposite directions.

Four woods will be used by each player with the objective of drawing all woods within a one yard circle of the Jack. If the Jack is moved from its mark it shall be immediately replaced by the Marker. If it cannot be replaced on its spot the Marker will place it as near as possible to its original position.

When all eight woods have been bowled the Marker will measure with the Yardstick touching the Jack in a circle around it. A wood counts when the Yardstick can touch both that wood and the Jack (both players can score at the conclusion of an end).
