The recent poor weather has taken its toll on some of our fixtures,

here's hoping things improve by the time you read this newsletter.

CASINO NIGHT

Casino night last month was well supported, raising much needed funds for the club. Thank you Tony & Katherine for laying on the event.

SHERINGHAM VISIT

We had an enjoyable game at Sheringham on 25th May and the weather was kind to us. For many, the highlight of the day was the sudden appearance of the sinkhole in the High Street!

A big thank you goes to Colin Childs & Trevor for organising the event, and Janet Godfrey for providing parking at the pickup point.

JUBILEE TROPHY

We have entered two teams to play in the Jubilee Trophy, hosted by Stevenage Town. The competition started on 17th June, when we made a good start by winning both rinks and picking up 6 points, the final match to be played 29th July.

CLUB COMPETITIONS

Sunday 30th June is Triples Day. Saturdays 13th July, 10th & 31st August are deadline days for various rounds of club competitions – see club competition noticeboard for more information.

BONUS BALL

Next stakes are due 29th June.

BARBECUE

Tony is holding a BBQ on Saturday 20th July – if you wish to attend please add your name to the list in the Clubhouse. Guests welcome.

TEA/CLEANING ROTAS

Providing refreshments and cleaning is an essential part of running the club. For this we rely on the goodwill of club members.

If you have not already done teas and/or cleaning, kindly put your name on the tea/cleaning rotas on your next visit to the Clubhouse.

Thank you to those members who have already committed to the rotas.

HAMPER RAFFLE

Raffle tickets (open to all) for the Turfcare hamper will be sold throughout the season, the draw will be on 22nd September.

POST MATCH

Would players ensure they put equipment away at the conclusion of play.

SITE SECURITY

A reminder that after unlocking the barrier, please lock the padlock to the gate – do not leave it hanging loose, it could easily be taken.

And it goes without saying, last person out must secure it on departure.
